In recent years, the travel agent community has been facing some struggles pertaining to public awareness, however, according to a new ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) report on 2017 travel trends, travel agents are making a comeback. Why is this? Millennials are becoming more and more interested in seeking the help of a travel agent, and their travel cravings are at an all-time high.

The Millennial:  18-34 years old

This is the most populous generation. There are more Millennials than Generation Xers, Baby Boomers. Millennials love to travel. They love customized, unique experiences

According to the report, 80% of people who’ve used an agent within the past 5 years had a favorable view of them. These findings are based on extensive field research, including focus groups and surveys. A total of 1,500 Americans responded. Interestingly enough, a majority of those respondents were Millennials.

Millennials have become the focus of the travel world, using travel agents more than any other age demographic. Not only are they buying more packages from agents than other groups, they’re also seeking advice from their agents. They want to know where to go, what to do, and how to make the most of their travel experience. Millennials want travel agents.

This particular age demographic isn't messing around with their travels. Taking over the business travel world, a whopping 57% of millennial males took a business trip last year.
